The software is "self service" so to get online, follow these steps:

• Select the "Create New Society" button on the right hand side and enter all of the relevant details
• Choose a Society password (this ensures that only people you choose can join your society)
• Once all details are entered, the Society will be created and you will be set up as the Administrator. You will be sent your login password via text message
• Contact all of your members (the hard way for the last time!) and give them the name of the Society and the Society password
• Each member can then set themselves up as a member of the Society
• Your Society will automatically receive 100 text message credits for use on the site. Each additional credit costs €0.10 + VAT. Most text messages cost one credit i.e. € 0.10 + VAT but there are exceptions. For a full list or charges, click here.
• You can now use the site to set up outings, handicaps, timesheets, news etc.
• Each time you send a text message, your Society is charged one credit.
• Every other service on the site is FREE.
• Your members will not be charged for receiving text messages

Using the site, the Society Administrator can:

• Place relevant information online for any of their Society members to view
• Send automatic text messages to members with fixtures, results, Golfer Of The Year tables etc.
• Generate automatic/ random timesheets
• Publish Society news online
• Maintain the members Society handicaps
• Maintain the Golfer Of The Year table
• Alert all members of short-notice changes via text message e.g. course closures, change of presentation venue/ time
• Generally makes life easier for the Society Administrator!

Q: How much does it cost for the use of the site?

A: The use of the site for Society Administrators and members is free. There is no set-up cost; there is no ongoing/ maintenance cost; there are no storage costs etc.

Q: What other costs are there?

A: The only cost for the Society is the cost of sending text messages.

Q: How much does each text message cost the Society?

A: Each text message sent costs the Society € 0.10 + VAT (currently 21%) which is cheaper than most Mobile Network Providers text message charge.

Q: Does it cost the member to receive a message e.g. like a Premium Rate text?

A: No, there is no charge to the message recipient for either receiving or reading the text message

Q: How will I know where the message has come from i.e. what number is displayed?

A: The message will displayed on the recipients phone as being from "GolfSociety"

Q: Can I reply to a message received from the Society?

A: Currently, no. If you attempt to reply to the message, it will not send.

Q: Who can view the Society's information?

A: Only joined-up members of the Society can view thier Society's information.

Q: Is there a cost to join as a member of a Society?

A: No, there is no charge to join the Society.

Q: Can I join more than one Society?

A: Yes you can, provided you have been given the password for each Society.

Q: If I am a member of Society A, can I view the information for Society B?

A: If you are not a member of Society B, you cannot gain access to their information.

Q: If I want to leave the Society, will it stop sending me text messages?
